Lower Clinch Watershed Council
The mission of the Lower Clinch Watershed Council is to protect and improve the quality of natural resources in the Lower Clinch Watershed by serving as a collaborative forum to support and facilitate member organizations in networking, solving technical issues, securing funding, and enhancing public awareness. This project will focus on improving water quality for 200 stream miles of the Lower clinch Watershed through the restoration of freshwater aquatic habitats, the creation of wildlife habitat corridors, the restoration of native plants, the implementation of BMPs, and the involvement/education of key stakeholders.
HPUD anticipated a desire and a need to establish this Council. Therefore, the District sought to support is formation through financial and in-kind support. Through this collaboration of agencies and organizations, the water quality improvement efforts can be elevated to the next level and hopefully attract nationwide support.
