- The District’s sanitary sewer system covers approximately 100 square miles and serves approximately 20,000 customer accounts.
- A faulty manhole can admit 10-50 gallons of storm water per minute to sewer system. There are roughly 9,187 sewer manholes in the HPUD service area.
- There are 20 sewer lift stations in the District’s service area.
- The largest gravity sewer pipe in the District's collection system is 48" in diameter.
- Each person in a household generates an average of 100 gallons of wastewater daily.
- Beaver Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is permitted for 9.7 MGD (million gallons per day) average design flow.
- Just 1 home gutter connected to the sewer can generate 15 gallons of water per minute during rainfall.
- The Hallsdale-Powell Utility District maintains 457 miles of wastewater collection pipe.
- The average sewer pipe serves 200 residences. If one inch of rain infiltrates that same pipe it will only serve 8 homes.
- The District's new wastewater plant influent pumping station can pump over 32 MGD peak flow capacity.
