About Hallsdale Powell Utility District

More than 68 years ago, a small utility district was formed to provide service to a few customers in rural North Knox County. Sixty-eight years and tens of thousands of customers later, Hallsdale Powell Utility District finds itself as one of the largest utility districts in Tennessee, providing water and wastewater service to North Knox County, Anderson County and Union County. At HPUD, we know the important role that water plays in your life and work hard every day to provide you and your family with the highest quality water.

Hallsdale Powell Utility District is governed by three commissioners, appointed by the County Mayor, who serve four-year terms. The Board of Commissioners meet at the office of Hallsdale Powell Utility once a month, typically on the second Monday of each month.
